After two cancellations due to Covid-19, the Heimtextil fair returned to Frankfurt from June 21 to 24, stronger than ever. This year it was held in conjunction with Texprocess and Techtextil, specializing in technology for the textile industry.for those of you who don’t know what the fair is all about, it is usually held in January, and is the largest international trade fair for home textiles, with a strong presence of exhibitors and visitors from all five continents and the high demand for a trade in the areas of design, interior design, architecture and decoration, show that this fair has become an important ingredient for manufacturers, distributors and buyers. The event offers a wide range of home textiles, from textiles for the bathroom, bed and table to product offerings for windows, upholstery, flooring, walls and sun protection.
Main topicsThis year’s main themes were sustainability and circular economy. Topics that are not particularly new for the household industry, as we have been trying to save resources and make production and products more sustainable for more than 10 years, as we already told you in this other blog post, where we told you about the award we won for the implementation of most of the Sustainable Development Goals, within our Corporate Social Responsibility actions. In the area of trends, a topic we will talk about later, under the slogan Next Horizons, we not only offered inspiration for trendy colors and materials, but also showed how sustainable themes can be staged, using local resources and environmentally friendly materials for the stand design.
Trends Heimtextil 2022/2023As we mentioned earlier, this year’s theme was called Next Horizons, and the trends were Deep Nature, Hyper Nature, Beyond Identity, and Empowered Identity. Deep NatureDeep Nature is about reconnecting with the natural world, transforming the future of home textiles by understanding nature’s intelligent circular systems.Essential, organic tones create the Deep Nature color scale. Musty, grassy tones and delicate shades of blue and blush create a calm, tonal, earthy approach. It’s a return to our natural legacy of undyed materials in shades of beiges and sandy browns to create a natural, slowly crafted expression.
Hyper NatureHyper Nature is a symphony of immersive realms that digitally communicate the secrets and treasures of nature. For home textiles, Hyper Nature is about digital representations of nature and creating designs that offer the inspiration of how nature would do it, or how to grow a better world by merging technology and nature.Vivid, unearthly colors range from eerie greens to deep violet. Bioscience inspires both bright and lucid hues and fuzzy shades of green and gray.
Beyond IdentityFuture generations are redefining boundaries, with their identities constantly changing. For the world of interiors and home textiles, this confirms that sustainability doesn’t have to be earthy. Instead, Beyond Identity’s aesthetic is bold, with a high level of fusion.Beyond Identity redefines the meaning of pastel colors. Through solid values, pastel colors, often delicate and bleached, can become powerful and exciting.
Empowered IdentityEmpowered Identity seeks to create sustainable cultural connections by renewing sources of craft inspiration in a collaborative way. Empowering identity helps forge new relationships between heritage cultures and future generations. Humble craftsmanship and manual labor also foster an activist approach to design, driving positive social change.Empowered Identity’s color scale consists of rooted yet rebellious saturated hues. The primary colors resemble their color pigment origins to support the heritage expression of the theme.
