More than a year ago, we talked about whether or not it was necessary to maintain and clean a sofa on a regular basis. The conclusion was that, although Aquaclean makes it much easier to clean, it is advisable to maintain a sofa for which you have invested time, love and money.
That’s why today we bring you tips and tricks to keep your sofa practically as if it had just come out of the store.

Cleaning for optimal maintenance
One of the biggest enemies to keep the sofa like new, is dust. No matter how much you clean the house, the sofa being so big is a magnet for dust and ends up getting full of it from one week to another.
And what is the biggest enemy of dust? A good vacuum cleaner. You have several options of course, put a sheet over the sofa, which makes little sense with an Aquaclean upholstery; or as we said a vacuum cleaner.
If your vacuum cleaner has different heads, in particular one for upholstery, it will be your best friend, as it will not affect the integrity of the upholstery and will be able to reach the most complicated gaps, since it is not only important to vacuum the surface of the sofa, but also the corners and recesses, as well as under the cushions.
On the other hand, it is also important to vacuum the floor around and under the sofa, as that dust can rise up and settle back down on the sofa, and that can end up affecting the air quality.
Keeping the sofa firm
If you’re that person who is obsessed with your seat being yours and no one else’s, you may want to skip this step. As silly as it may seem, sitting in the same spot too often can cause the cushions to become very soft. It will also make it easier for dirt to accumulate in one area, so we recommend changing the seating spot on the sofa from time to time.
On the other hand, although those endless naps on the couch watching a movie, warm with a blanket, are almost necessary, it is also good to get up from time to time for its firmness, and for your own health.
Finally, the cushions, those sofa accessories that we often forget how important they are. It is very important both to shake the cushions regularly and to turn them over from time to time. In particular, it is advisable to do the latter every two weeks so that one part does not wear out more than the other.
Preventing damage to the sofa
Although this is not commonly known, direct sunlight is harmful to the sofa. We recommend keeping them away from open windows and closing the curtains at times when the sun’s rays are strongest during the day.
And, last but not least, because it is one of the most common things we do on the couch, is to avoid sitting on the arms of the sofa. Yes, the eternal comment we make to the little ones of the house about not sitting there. Sitting on the arm of the sofa can damage the structure of the sofa.
I hope that with this we have achieved that your sofa, which inevitably ages, will take much longer to do so. Because as you know, one of our priorities is your peace of mind, and having a perfect sofa for many years is more than enough reason to remain calm.
