What do you think sustainability is? Is it related to pollution? Consumption? Environmental protection? Fabrics that do not use PFCs? The reality is that sustainability is all that and more, that is why it is so complex to reach that state of sustainable balance, in which we can continue to function as a capitalist society, damaging as little as possible to the environment and its resources.as Greenpeace says “we seek to put at the center the sustainability of life”.
Sustainable developmentSustainability, according to a Brundtland report, is development that in turn meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations.Because of this, sustainable development became a fundamental part of the 2030 agenda adopted by the UN, which is about an effort by many countries to improve the lives of everyone on Earth. One of these, is about eliminating the overexploitation of natural resources that are used to manufacture products and goods that we consume.
Goals for a better planet17 goals comprise the UN action plan to achieve sustainable development until 2030, in which more than 190 countries have joined, and of these 17, 6 of them are directly related to the care of the environment, and one of them, as you can imagine, is about avoiding the consumption of PFCs when manufacturing fabrics with waterproof properties. And one of them, as you can imagine, is about avoiding the consumption of PFCs when manufacturing fabrics with waterproof properties.as you know, in Aquaclean we joined this initiative years ago to lend a hand in caring for the environment, creating our own eco-friendly technology, and using more natural materials to create our fabrics. You can read more about our commitment in this link.
So just as we do our bit for your peace of mind, and that of the planet Earth, if you are interested Greenpeace released a calculator to diagnose the carbon footprint that we each leave in our private lives. So you can know where you can act to reduce that footprint. In addition, I leave you another link, where we can see the sustainable development goals and targets currently implemented until 2030. Because only together, we can really change the world and make it a more hospitable place for everyone.
