Recycling.
implies that a product is not simply discarded, but can be reused.
This is important for the environment and sustainability, since discarding products without further action, creates a series of waste on the planet that are extremely difficult to eliminate, so instead of continuing to generate and discarding product, from Aquaclean, we see convenient to reuse and recycle products to reach before meeting the Sustainable Development Goals that have been proposed for 2030.But what measures will we take? Our intention as a group of companies in the textile sector is to improve sustainability and recycling. Therefore, we have managed to release our new Book One Planet 2023, with fabrics that come from 100% recycled and 100% recyclable sources. As we told you in the last blog post, a large part of our values is the legacy we are going to leave to our descendants, and that is to make the world a better place.
From bottle to sofaDid you know that those water bottles you’ve been drinking have contributed to the creation of our four new fabrics? Alba, Natura, Fontana, and Veneto come from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Each meter of fabric comes from about 20 and a half liter bottles. Not only that, but the cycle of this material goes back to the beginning, it starts all over again, since our fabrics are also 100% recyclable, so that when their useful life is over, this material can be used for new things.
But it doesn’t stop there. In this search for constant improvement, and as we understand the importance of reusing and upcycling (the act of taking something that is no longer used and giving it a second life and a new function), we have continued to develop new disciplines to keep improving, among them, we are training young designers in different design schools on the reuse of fabrics. Another of these initiatives is our commitment to fair trade and proximity, through the manufacture of bags made from Aquaclean fabric waste, which are made by our heroines in rural environments.
The container also mattersAlthough we were talking about different initiatives and characteristics of our technological fabrics, one might ask, how do the products get to my home? At Aquaclean we have our own packaging, very resistant, which can be reused for the storage of the fabric itself, or to re-ship it. In addition, if you wish to dispose of them, you will have to do it through an authorized manager.
In addition, the cardboard used in our boxes and tubes has the code LER 150101, and the plastic film has the code LER 150102. The same happens with our fabrics, which have waste codes LER 040222, LER 200110 or LER 191212.LER are the acronyms that describe the European Waste List, and classify the products according to the way they have to be disposed of, and how it should be done.it is essential that they are recycled correctly following these codes, to be able to reuse the recycled fibers, plastics and cardboard, and start the cycle again, and not generate waste. This makes the life of our products an endless cycle, which allows us to have top quality fabrics, but always respecting the environment. Because at the end of the day, peace of mind is not only about being comfortable at home, but also about being able to ensure that you will be comfortable for a long time to come, even when we are away.
